Understanding the role of your kingdom and its relations is vital to your
success in Utopia. Your kingdom is your alliance - without it, you likely
won't survive. Work within your kingdom, however, and the possibilities are
endless. Your Monarch has the ability to set specific relations with some
of the other kingdoms across the world of Utopia. It is important to keep
track of relations to understand how to effectively work with your
teammates.
Different relations types will open up additional spells, operations, and attack options. Additionally, honor gains are higher during hostile and war relations. |
Possible Relations | |
---|---|
No Relations | The default status with most kingdoms,
this simply means you have specified no particular relationship with the
target kingdom.
|
Hostile | Hostile Relations indicate an intent
to engage in hostile activities against your target. Officially declaring these
relations is necessary to engage in any type of war. A Kingdom can declare
one other kingdom to be Hostile, but can only declare on kingdoms at least
90% of their Land or Networth.
EFFECTS OF HOSTILITY:
|
Peace | Declaring yourself at peace with
another kingdom tells your provinces that they should not commit hostile
attacks against them. A kingdom can only declare Peace against a Hostile
kingdom larger than them. If both parties have declared peace, it becomes a
BINDING PEACE and attacks, spells, and thievery operations will not be
allowed. A Kingdom may declare Peace with 1 other kingdom.
EFFECTS OF PEACE:
|
War | WAR is a result of Hostility. Once
two Hostile Kingdoms have committed enough actions against each other,
War will commence. War is designed to allow two kingdoms to engage in combat
with less interference from the outside world. Any kingdom can only be
in one War at a time, and cannot have any other diplomatic relations as long
as the War continues.
EFFECTS OF WAR:
War can only be halted through Diplomatic decisions by the Kingdoms' Monarchs. War can be ended in any of three ways. In all of these cases, neither kingdom may have any relations for one Utopian month after the war ends. MUTUAL PEACE - This option requires consent by both parties and will create a Binding Peace agreement for one Utopian Month. This is an excellent option for those wars with no clear winner. SURRENDER - A kingdom clearly losing a war will be given the option to Surrender. This creates a Binding Peace for two Utopian Months. Surrendering will cost the losing kingdom 5% of their total honor, distributed evenly amongst the provinces of the winning kingdom. Surrenders can only occur if the surrendering kingdom has not committed any attacks within the past three Utopian Days. WITHDRAWAL - A kingdom clearly winning a war will get the option to Withdraw their forces if they tire of the war effort. This option, available only after two months of conflict, allows the winning kingdom to withdraw without surrender. The Withdrawing Kingdom will suffer a 2% Honor loss, and no Mutual Peace will be put in effect. The kingdom will also gain 10% of the opposing kingdom's exploration pool. |
