What is Science?: Science is a long-term process of improving your efficiency in various fields. This knowledge can be learned through funding, the use of Libraries, and Learn Attacks. Science can give you an edge over provinces less skilled in these fields. The benefits of science are determined by your Science Points compared to the amount of land you own.

As you know, the arts & sciences are the tale of the future. The mystery of magic, the acts of war, the development of society ... all are affected by the power of knowledge, of understanding. Understanding the laws of nature, the laws that govern our being, can only make us stronger, healthier, and happier. I am proud of the students within our provinces, for they are the ones that will lead us into the future. Take good care of them. Offer them the support they need, for what they can offer is so much more. I now would like to take this opportunity to explore some of the areas of studies our land offers.

Essential Ingredients
Developing science is a process that takes time. The amount of science you have is measured in Books of Knowledge - the more you have, the better the benefits. Gaining real benefits from the sciences takes some significant investment, but can provide powerful advantages to your province. There are three primary ways to gain knowledge in these fields:

Research: You may spend money to develop your knowledge. This can be done from the Science Menu. The cost of this will drop as the Age progresses and your province matures.
Libraries: Libraries produce knowledge over time which can then be specialized in the fields of your choice. This is also done from the Science menu and shows up as free science points to be allocated.
Learn Attacks: Through combat, you can simply steal knowledge from your enemies. This option has the advantages of weakening an opponent and speeding up the learning process.

Between these methods, provinces have a variety of methods to develop the knowledge required to grow and succeed in the long-term.

Alchemy Alchemy is the art of changing steel to gold. Knowledge in this area will help you increase your daily tax revenues by creating more value out of the resources you have.

Tools Creating better tools means more efficient workers. By developing this area of knowledge, you will be able to increase the efficiency of buildings throughout your land.

Housing By improving the quality & efficiency of housing throughout your lands, you will be able increase the amount of people living throughout your nation. This provides you the opportunity to substantially increase the size of your province without adding more lands.

Food By researching better food growth techniques, you can improve the quality of your crops and improve the yield from the farms across your lands. This allows to dedicate more lands to other, more fruitful ventures for your province.

Military Learning better military tactics helps you find new ways to fight battles and keep your forces alive. Study here, and troops will suffer fewer losses in combat.

Crime & Deceit Your thieves are training in criminal procedure by the state. Having state knowledge of crime is of great value in making your thieves more effective both in conducting insurgent operations as well as defending your own territories.

Channelling Magic is a powerful force of the lands. By increasing your knowledge of the history of this art, you can improve your wizards' abilities to cast spells and the amount of potential damage done by successful castings. You also increase the amount of runes produced by your towers each day.
